We have been operating out of this spot at 257/9 for quite a while now. Being right near the fire station means there is always some noise or something happening on the street outside Swagattam Plastics. Most mornings start with the sound of the shutters going up and the machines getting warmed up for the day’s work. We mostly deal with various plastic items and parts. The shop floor can get pretty warm when everything is running, especially in the middle of the afternoon. It is not a large place, just a practical setup where we can get the jobs finished. We spend a lot of time moving crates around and checking that the molds are clean. Sometimes the delivery trucks have a bit of trouble finding the exact turnoff since the road gets busy, but everyone knows the fire station landmark. We usually take our tea breaks standing near the entrance just to get a bit of fresh air. It is a simple routine. We do not have fancy offices or big meeting rooms. Most of the space is taken up by raw materials and the finished products waiting to be picked up. The walls are a bit scuffed from moving heavy equipment, but that is just how a working shop looks. We just focus on keeping the machines in good shape and making sure we have enough material for the week ahead. It’s just us doing our daily work here in the industrial area.
