Maniba Medical

Living and working in Silvassa is okay. We have been running Maniba Medical for some time now. It's just a small place, really. We see a lot of the same faces every week coming in for their monthly tablets or just to ask about something they saw on the news. Gujarat gets pretty hot in the summer, so we keep the fans going all day. The shop isn't anything special to look at, but it stays organized enough that we can find things. We have a lot of different brands on the shelves. Sometimes we run out of things and have to tell people to wait a day or two. Most people are patient about it. We open up early and stay late most nights because that's when people get off work. I usually sit near the counter and handle the money while the boys fetch the items from the back. It’s a quiet life here. Silvassa has grown a lot lately, more buildings and more cars, but our little corner stays mostly the same. We don't do any big advertising or anything. People just know we are here. Sometimes we share a tea with the neighbors when it’s slow. We just keep the door open and wait for whoever needs something. It’s simple work but it keeps us busy and part of the town. We like being the place people come to.
