Our factory is located at 3/3 in the Kanchan Industrial Estate, which is right on Somnath Road. It’s easy to miss if you aren't looking for the turn behind National House in Dabhel, Daman. We spend our days making carbon brushes, which is a bit of a dusty job. If you come inside the shop, you'll see black dust on almost everything, including our clothes and the windows. It’s just part of the process when you're working with these specific materials all day. The machines have a steady rhythm to them that you get used to after working here a few hours. We don't have a big marketing team or anyone to answer the phones with a scripted greeting. Usually, it's just one of us wiping our hands on a rag before picking up the call. Daman is a busy place for manufacturing, and our little corner in the estate is no different from the others. We have a routine that we follow every day to make sure the brushes are cut and shaped correctly. The loading bay usually has a truck waiting to take the latest batch out to the customers. It can get pretty humid here, being so close to the coast, which makes the factory floor feel a bit heavy in the afternoons. We just keep the big doors open to let some air in and keep working until the sun goes down. It’s a simple setup, but it’s ours.
