Our office is on the third floor of a building in Dhaleswar, right behind the R.K. Mission. We are at Bani Kantha De’s place. It is a bit of a climb up those concrete stairs, but the view of the neighborhood is actually pretty decent from the back side of the building. We have been here for a little while now, focusing on small-scale savings for the local people. It is a very simple setup. We have some wooden desks, a couple of computers, and a whole lot of paper files because we still like having things written down in ink. The area around R.K. Mission is usually pretty peaceful, which helps us focus on the numbers without too much distraction. We are not corporate types at all; we are just regular people who wanted to start something useful for our own community. Sometimes the rain leaks a little bit near the left window when the wind is strong, so we have to move the chairs around, but it is not a big deal. We talk to every single person who walks in, whether they want to save ten rupees or a thousand. It is all the same to us. My colleague usually brings tea for everyone in the afternoon, which is definitely the best part of our workday. We do not have a big marketing team or anyone like that. People find us because they live nearby.
