This office is actually the residence of Yashavanth Bekal, called Brinda Krupa, out on Kadumane Road in Puttur. Even though the company name says Bangalore, this is where we handle things for the Mangalore side of the business. It is a bit different working from a place like Mareel Darbe compared to a big city office. It is quieter here, which is nice when you have to look over project plans or do the accounts. We handle infrastructure work around the district. My father and the rest of us have been involved in this for a while. We aren't trying to be some massive corporation; we just like to work on projects that mean something to the local area. There is a lot of driving involved since sites can be far apart. We spend a lot of time in the jeep. The work is physical and sometimes messy, especially when the monsoon hits Karnataka. We have to plan around the rains a lot. Our house is often full of talk about cement, steel, and deadlines. It is just how life is for us. We don't really have a big staff, just a few reliable people we have known for years. We do what we can and try to stay honest about what is possible. It is a simple way of working, but it has served us well so far. We just keep our heads down and keep going until the work is finished.
