We operate out of the RM Corporation building, specifically at number 9, Ventura. It’s on Bejai Main Road, inside the Ventura Apartment complex. Mangalore is where we’ve always been, and this office is our main base for managing the cab business. It is a simple room with a couple of desks and a lot of phone lines. We spend most of our time talking to drivers on the radio or the phone, trying to see who is where. Bejai is a busy neighborhood, but being inside the apartment complex keeps things a little quieter for us. We have a lot of maps and schedules pinned to the walls. It isn’t a fancy corporate office with glass walls or anything like that. It’s a place where work actually happens. Sometimes the cars need repairs and we have to coordinate with the mechanics, which adds to the stress. We just try to keep the vehicles moving and the schedules on track. The weather in Mangalore can be unpredictable, especially during the monsoon, so we spend a lot of time worrying about the road conditions. We drink a lot of coffee to stay sharp during the long shifts. It is just a regular local business trying to keep things running. We don't have any big speeches to give, we just manage the fleet as best as we can and hope for clear roads.
