We work out of the Sai Ameya Arc-1 building on Bejai Kapikad Road. It’s in the Kodialbail Village area of Mangalore. Most of the folks here at Sai Ameya Builders and Developers live nearby, so we really know these local streets. Our office is just a place where we keep our tools, some blueprints, and our records. We spend most of our time out on the construction sites anyway. Building things in this part of town means dealing with the heat and the hills, but we’re used to it by now. We don’t really do big advertisements or try to act like we’re some huge national firm. We’re just local builders. We started this because we saw a need for more homes and shops in the neighborhood. It’s a lot of physical work and a lot of phone calls to suppliers. When we’re in the office, we’re usually arguing over the cost of cement or checking on the progress of a foundation. It’s honest, messy work. We aren't polished and we don't have a corporate script or a fancy mission. We just talk to people like they're our neighbors, because usually, they are. If you see us at the Arc-1 building, we’re probably busy, but we’ll always stop to talk for a minute. We take some pride in the fact that we’re actually part of the village here. It makes a difference when you’re building something that your own friends might live in one day.
