Mangalore is a good place to work, especially over here at No 3/21, Demmale Kalkar House. Our office for Relogistics India Pvt Ltd is part of the Mallur House area. It feels more like a home turned into a workspace than a corporate building. There is a specific smell of rain and old paper in the air here, especially during the monsoon months. We spend our days coordinating trucks and checking on cargo status. It is a lot of back-and-forth communication. The Kalkar House has these sturdy walls that keep it somewhat cool, but we still keep the windows open for the breeze. There are no glass partitions or shiny reception desks here. My desk is right next to a stack of old files that we really should archive one of these days. We know the local drivers by name and they often stop by for a quick chat or to hand over documents. It is a slow and steady kind of life, even though the logistics business can get hectic when a shipment is delayed. We don't use big words or pretend to be something we aren't. We are just a local team trying to keep things organized. The commute to Mangalore Tq isn't too bad most days, unless there is a festival happening nearby. We just do the work and try to get home before it gets too dark. It is just us here in this corner of the town.
