We are located at Parakodange House in the Hirebandady area of Puttur. It is a village setting in Karnataka, so things move a bit slower around here. Our address is basically a house that we use for the sports business. We have been here for a good while now, serving the local community in the 574241 zip code. It’s not like the shops you see in the big cities. We keep our stock in a couple of rooms and people from the village just walk in when they need something. We deal mostly in cricket and volleyball gear because that is what everyone plays in the fields nearby. My family helps out with the daily tasks. Sometimes we are out in the back handling shipments, and other times we are sitting on the porch talking to neighbors. The house is surrounded by a bit of greenery, which is nice. We don't have a big neon sign. People just know where the Parakodange House is. It is a very hands-on way of doing things. If a kid needs a ball for a match that afternoon, they know they can knock on our door. We handle everything ourselves, from picking up stock to keeping the ledger. It is a quiet life, but we stay busy enough. We just try to provide what the local players need without making a big fuss about it. It’s just how things work in Hirebandady.
