You will find us at Balkaje House, which is in Kalenja Village. It is out in the Kayarthadka area, part of the Belthangady Taluk in the South Canara district. This is a very rural and quiet spot compared to the big cities like Bangalore. Planet M Retail Ltd runs things from here, and it feels a lot different than working in a tall office building. It is much more peaceful out here with the trees. We spend our days looking after the retail logistics for this whole district. Since we are based in a small village, almost everyone knows everyone else’s business. It is not a corporate environment at all. Sometimes a neighbor will just stop by for a chat while we are trying to work on the monthly accounts. The building itself is just a regular house that we have used for the business. It can get quite dusty during the dry season when the wind picks up. We do not have any air conditioning here, just the standard ceiling fans to keep us cool. We manage all the distribution across the local taluk from these desks. It involves a lot of manual tracking of what goes where. Sometimes the internet connection is a bit slow, so we just have to wait to send our final reports to the head office. We don't really mind the slower pace of life. It’s a practical way to live and work.
