About Mogaveera Fisheries Development Center Llp – Agriculture & Farming in Dakshina Kannada
Down in Mangalore, at D.No. 3 / 369 570, is where we run Mogaveera Fisheries Development Center. Narasimha Shriyan and Rama Kanchan’s family have been involved with this for a long time. It’s a local operation, nothing too polished. We work out of Dakshina Kannada, right where the coastal life is everything. Fish is the main thing here, and we spend our hours looking at how to keep things moving. The address might look a bit confusing on paper, but if you’re from around here, you know the neighborhood. We aren't some big city firm with suits and meetings. We spend more time on the docks or in the storage areas than in an office. It’s humid and salty work, which is just how Mangalore is most of the year. We’ve had to learn everything by doing it, mostly by making mistakes and fixing them as we go. It’s an honest way to spend the day. We don’t have a fancy website or a mission statement pinned to the wall. We just want to make sure the work is done right and the people here have something steady to do. It’s a small group of us, mostly family and old friends. We take it one day at a time, watching the tides and seeing what needs to be sorted next at the center. It’s a lot of manual labor, but we don’t mind it much since we are used to the smell and the pace of the coast.
