Joy & Zaffa Soft Drinks

We are located right on Urwa Marigudi Cross Road. It is a very familiar spot for most of the people who live in this part of town. We started Joy & Zaffa Soft Drinks because we wanted to do something for the local market here in Mangalore. It is not a massive factory with robots, just a decent-sized place where we get the daily work done with our own hands. The air is always a bit humid here near the coast, which makes everyone feel thirsty, so that actually helps the business quite a bit during the week. We spend a lot of our time washing the reusable glass bottles and checking the rubber seals. It’s a very hands-on kind of operation. We don't use much automation; it's mostly just us doing the actual filling and the capping. The floor is usually wet from the wash cycle, so we end up wearing rubber boots for the whole day. Sometimes the power goes out unexpectedly, and we just have to wait it out and talk for a bit until it comes back. We know most of our regular customers by their first names because they have been buying from us for a long time. It is a friendly place to work, though it gets quite loud when all the machines are running at once. We have a small window where people can come and buy a single crate directly if they are having a small function or some sort of party nearby.
