Assistant Engg

Our place is called Shri Krishna House, and it is located in Marthadka, right near the Mundur post office. It is out here in the Puttur area of Karnataka. Being an assistant engineer in a village like this is a lot different than working in the big cities like Bangalore or Mangalore. Life moves at a slower pace here, but the engineering work is still there to be done. I handle the local technical needs from this house. It has a real family-run feel because we are right in the middle of the village. Most of the people around here know exactly where to find me if they have a question about a building or a small project they are starting. I have got my setup in one part of the house. It works out well for everyone. I do not need a fancy glass building with an elevator to do my job. The air is much better out here in Mundur anyway. Sometimes the power goes out, and we just have to wait it out or use the emergency lamps. That is just part of living in this part of the country. I spend my mornings going through various plans and my afternoons maybe visiting a site nearby. It is a very straightforward life. I take care of the technical side of things so the locals do not have to worry about the math. Shri Krishna House has been here for a long time. It is home and work. We just keep it simple and steady.
