The Pamir Ice Cream

Our place is in Sudarshanpur, over in Uttar Dinajpur. If you know where the Durga Mandir is, we are very close to that. It’s a landmark everyone around here knows. We’ve been making and selling ice cream in this area for a bit. It’s a quiet place most of the time, except when there’s a festival at the mandir. Then the whole street fills up with people and we stay very busy until late at night. We have a small staff of local guys who help with the deliveries and the serving. The building isn't anything special to look at, just a regular brick structure that stays cool enough inside. We don't have any big corporate backing or anything. It’s just us. Sometimes the supply of milk is a bit slow from the farm, but we make it work. People in Sudarshanpur know us by name. We don't really do any advertising or put up big posters. Word of mouth is usually enough for us. The kids from the nearby school often stop by in the afternoons. It's a nice routine to have. We just try to keep the machines in good shape and make sure there is enough ice cream for the local families. It’s a small operation, but it keeps us all going. We like being near the temple because it feels like the heart of the community and it’s always safe here for everyone.
