Rice Bazar

Out here in Baghan, life moves a bit slower than the city. Rice Bazar is where we spend our time. Being in North Dinajpur, everything revolves around the crops. We see the bags coming in and going out all day long. It's dusty work but someone has to do it. We don't have a fancy showroom. It's just a place where business happens. Farmers come by, we talk about the weather, and we deal with the grain. Sometimes the rain makes things difficult for everyone. We know the names of the people who come here. It's not like those big companies where nobody knows who you are. We've been in this village for years. The building isn't much to look at, just a sturdy place to keep things dry. We keep track of everything in our ledgers. It’s hard work, especially when it’s hot outside. But we’re used to it. People know they can find us here most days from early morning. We don’t spend money on posters or radio ads. The rice speaks for itself I guess. If you’re passing through the district, you’ll probably see the trucks lined up. We just keep our heads down and do the work. It’s a family thing, mostly. We hope to stay here as long as the land gives us something to work with. Most days are long but we like being part of the village life here in Baghan. It’s a decent life.
