Mjn High School

Our school is located in Raiganj. It’s a place where we spend most of our daylight hours. The building has been here for a bit, and it shows in some spots, like the worn-down steps or the way the doors sometimes stick during the humid months. We have a routine that hasn't changed much over the years. Teachers come in early, usually carrying a stack of notebooks, and the students start trickling in through the main entrance shortly after. Raiganj can be a busy town, but once you’re inside the school grounds, it feels a bit more contained. There’s always someone sweeping the hallways or fixing a desk. We have a lot of classrooms, and they all have that specific smell of chalk and old books. It’s not a shiny new place, but it works for what we need. During the breaks, the courtyard gets full of noise, which you can probably hear from the street. We try to keep the garden patches from getting too overgrown, though the weeds usually win during the rainy season. It’s just a regular school where people come to learn and work every day. We don't do anything flashy. Most of our furniture is wood that’s been polished by years of students sitting in it. The bell rings at the same time every day, and that’s when the rush to get home starts and the building finally gets quiet again for the night.
