Om Welding

If you head down the Purana Indore Road highway, you’ll find us over in the Bapu Nagar area. Om Welding is just a basic shop where we deal with metal and heat all day long. The noise from the highway is constant, with trucks zooming past at all hours, but we don’t really notice it much anymore. Inside, the walls are a bit stained from the smoke and sparks, which is just part of the job. We have our welding machines set up in the back and there are always scraps of iron and rods lying around the floor. It’s a hot place to work, especially in the middle of the afternoon when the sun hits the metal roof, so we drink a lot of water and take breaks in the shade when we can. We don’t do any fancy marketing or have a big sales team. People usually find us because they saw the sign while driving by or someone in Bapu Nagar told them we were here. We spend most of our time wearing those heavy masks and gloves, just joining pieces of metal together for whatever project comes through the door. Sometimes it’s a gate, sometimes it’s just a repair job for a local farmer's equipment. It’s honest work that leaves your clothes smelling like burnt metal. We close up once it gets dark and the highway traffic starts to slow down a little bit.
