Daud Kirana

Our kirana shop is located in Ward No. 6, right on Godhra Road. We are quite close to Paras Money Hospital, which makes us easy to find for anyone in that part of the Nagar Palika area. We’ve been selling groceries and daily essentials here for a long time. It’s a simple business. We stock the grains, soaps, and snacks that people use every day. The shop isn't very big, but we use every inch of the walls to hold our stock. It gets dusty being so close to the main road, so we spend a lot of time wiping down the jars and packets. Large supermarket chains are very different from what we do. We are just a local store where you can get what you need without a lot of walking. Most of our day is spent weighing out items or chatting with the neighbors who stop in for a single thing and stay for a talk. Having no website or fancy computer system doesn't stop us. We keep our records in books and know our inventory by heart. It’s a lot of work to keep things running, but we enjoy the rhythm of it. When the hospital gets busy, we see a lot of new faces, but mostly it's the same local families coming in every single day.
