It’s usually pretty hot out here in Dahej. Being at Ch-10 in the GIDC Industrial Estate means we are surrounded by a lot of other factories and big trucks. Expanded Polymer Systems Pvt. Ltd. has its space right in the middle of all that activity. You can always hear some kind of machinery running in the distance. The air smells like salt sometimes because of the coast, mixed with the industrial scent of the estate. Our building is a solid structure, built to handle the work we do. There’s a lot of concrete and metal. We don’t have a garden or anything, just a few dusty plants near the entrance that we try to water. The yard is usually full of materials waiting to be moved. We have a small crew and we all know the routine. Lunch is usually eaten together in the small break area. It’s a bit noisy with the fans going, but it’s a good break from the heat. The roads in GIDC can be rough on the vehicles, so we’re always watching out for potholes. We get deliveries at all hours, so someone is always keeping an eye on the gate. It’s a busy life at Expanded Polymer Systems Pvt. Ltd., but we’re part of the landscape here. Most people who work in Dahej know how it is. It’s a hard-working place with no frills.
