Our spot is at Plot No. D-3, 17, over in Dahej-3. It’s a bit of a trek to get out here, but this is where the action is for industrial stuff. Daramic Battery Separator India Pvt. Ltd. is a long name for what we do, which is mostly making sure these battery components are made right. The facility is big and it can be quite loud when all the lines are running at full speed. We have shifts that go through the night, so someone is always here, even when the rest of the world is sleeping. The air out here in Dahej is always moving, and you see the flares from the big plants in the distance at night. Inside, we wear our safety gear and follow the steps. It’s not about being fancy; it’s about the machines working the way they’re supposed to. We eat our tiffins together in the break area and talk about cricket or our families back home. The commute is long for some of us, coming in on the company bus or bikes. We’ve had to fix the roof a few times after heavy rains, and the floor always has some scuff marks from the forklifts moving back and forth. It’s a busy environment where you always have to watch your step. We don't have a lot of visitors, just the delivery trucks and the technicians. It’s just us doing our part in the supply chain without making much of a fuss about it.
