Sushri Vidya Mandir

Down in Das Sahi, Sankarpur, you will find our small building which is Sushri Vidya Mandir. Cuttack can be quite crowded in the main parts, but our corner here in 753012 feels a bit more like a proper neighborhood. We have been here for a while now, seeing the kids grow up from primary classes till they finish school. It is just a simple place with classrooms that have seen a lot of use over the years. We don't have a big office or anything like that. Mostly, you will see us standing near the gate or sitting inside one of the rooms with a stack of papers. The street outside is narrow, so it's mostly cycles and scooters parked near the entrance. Parents often stop by for a quick chat while they are on their way to the market. We don't use much technology here, just books and notebooks and a lot of talking. It’s the kind of place where everyone knows each other’s names. We focus on getting the basics right because that is what matters in the long run. The walls are painted a simple color and we try to keep things tidy, even if the kids leave their bags everywhere. It’s just how a local school in Sankarpur should be, honest and busy. We are happy with how things are going, just teaching day by day without any big fuss or complicated plans for the future.
