Shree Ambika Auto Stores

Our shop is No. 182 A in Poddar Bhawan, located in the Manglabag area. It is quite easy to find if you know where the Mangalabagh Police Station is, as we are right in that vicinity. Shree Ambika Auto Stores has been operating out of this building for a good number of years now. The space is filled with parts for various vehicles, and there is always a bit of oil or grease on the counters. It’s not the cleanest place in the world, but it’s a working auto store, so that’s expected. We spend most of the day looking through catalogs or climbing ladders to get a specific part from the top shelves. The walls are lined with boxes of all sizes, and sometimes it takes a bit of searching to find exactly what a customer needs. We have a small bench where people can sit while we look for their items, though it's usually covered in paperwork. The traffic outside in Manglabag is always moving, and we get a lot of mechanics stopping by on their bikes. It is a very hands-on job, and my hands are rarely clean by the time I go home in the evening. We don't have a fancy computer system for everything; we still rely on our memory and some old ledgers for a lot of the stock. It’s a steady rhythm of serving people, checking parts, and keeping the shop going through the heat and the rain. We just keep at it every single day.
