You can find us out in Ramchandrapur, which is part of the Bhadrak district. It is a bit of a drive through Bhandaripokhari to get here, but it is a nice area. Biranchi Narayan Ray runs things at Rajlaxmi Constructions Ltd. We are a small construction outfit. We do not have a big corporate office in a city tower. Instead, we work right where the projects are. Most of the people around here know us by name. We do a lot of the work ourselves, from digging foundations to finishing the roofs. It is a lot of physical labor, and my back feels it some days, but that is the job. We do not spend much on advertising or anything like that. Word of mouth is usually how people find out about what we do. We build houses, repair sheds, and work on whatever else the locals need. The weather here can be unpredictable, so we have to plan our building schedules carefully. Sometimes the materials take a while to arrive on the trucks via Bhandaripokhari, so we just work on other things while we wait. We do not promise the world, just a solid day of work for a fair price. It is how we were taught to do things. We keep our tools sharp and our heads down. That is how we get things finished. It feels good to see a project done.
