Nina'S Tarkashi Private Limited

If you ever find yourself in the Kaligali area of Cuttack, you’ll know the lanes can be pretty narrow and crowded. That’s where Nina'S Tarkashi is set up. We’re in Plot 256/9, specifically in Flat 202 of the Metro Apartment. It’s near Budhi Thakurani Lane, which is a place everyone around here knows. Being in an apartment means it’s a bit quieter than being right on the main street, which helps when you’re doing detailed work like ours. We mostly focus on the Tarkashi stuff, which is a big part of Cuttack’s history. Our workspace is filled with small tools and tiny pieces of silver and wire. It’s not the kind of place where you’ll find a lot of big machinery. Instead, it’s just a few of us sitting at our benches with lamps pointed at what we’re doing. We spend hours just looking at the fine details. Sometimes our eyes get tired, so we take a break and look out at the city from the balcony. There’s always some laundry hanging nearby or the sound of neighbors going about their day. It’s a very local way to run a business. We aren't trying to be some huge factory. We just like making these traditional things and keeping the craft going in our own small way. It’s quiet work, but it keeps us busy enough for most of the year.
