Maithan Ispat Ltd.

Our office for Maithan Ispat Ltd. is located right on the Main Road in Jajpur Road, sharing space or sitting near Raj Electrical. If you have been to Jajpur Road, you know how busy it gets with all the trucks and the dust from the nearby industries. It is not the quietest place to work, but it puts us right where the action is. Alok Kr. Pandey and the rest of us spend most of the day dealing with the logistics of the steel business. The shop next door always has people coming and going for wires and switches, so there is a constant hum of conversation and the sound of horns from the street. Our office is pretty basic. We have some desks, a few old chairs, and a lot of registers that need filling out. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but nobody really has time for that when there are shipments to track and orders to process. In the afternoons, the sun hits the front of the building and it gets quite warm inside. We just open the windows and hope for a breeze, though usually, we just get more dust from the road. We drink a lot of water and keep the files moving. It is a practical way to run things. We are not trying to impress anyone with a fancy lobby. We just want to make sure the work gets done.
