Jindal Stainless Ltd.

This is the Jindal Stainless Ltd. spot on Jajpur Road in the Jajpur district of Orissa. I work with the civil department here, so we handle a lot of the structural stuff around the site. It is a big operation and there is always something that needs fixing or building. Jajpur is a real industrial hub, and you can feel that energy when you are out on the road. We deal with a lot of stainless steel, obviously, as that is what the company is all about. We don't go in for those smooth mission statements you see on posters. We are just honest workers who get our hands dirty every day. The dust from the road and the heat of the Orissa sun are just part of the deal. We have a lot of trucks moving through here and the noise never really stops. It takes a certain kind of person to enjoy this kind of work, but we like it well enough. We focus on the practical side of things, making sure the buildings and the grounds are in good shape for the production work. We aren't trying to be fancy or corporate about it. It’s just us, doing our bit in Jajpur to keep the whole place running. We drink our tea, do our shifts, and try to stay on top of the never-ending list of things to do around the facility.
