If you are walking down Naya Sarak, you have to look up to find us. We have that big blue filigree hoarding right on top of the shop, which makes it easier to spot among all the other buildings. We are sitting right in front of Santuka Agencies. It is a very crowded street with a lot of noise, but once you step inside, things get a bit quieter. We spend our days working on very small things. Jewelry making is mostly about sitting still and using your hands for hours at a time. We have all these little tools scattered across the workbenches, like tiny hammers and pliers that have been used for years. The floor usually has some metal dust on it by the end of the day. We don't have a big showroom with fancy lights. It is more of a workshop where the actual craft happens. People come in to ask about repairs or to see what we are currently making on the bench. Sometimes we are working on a piece for days, just trying to get the wire to bend the right way. It’s a bit of a slow process, but you can’t really rush this kind of work. The hoarding outside is starting to fade a little from the sun, but everyone in the area knows it’s our landmark. We just keep our heads down and focus on the metal.
