Hastasilpa Bhawan

Down in Andar Pur, things move at their own pace. Hastasilpa Bhawan is located right there in Kalyani Nagar. It’s a place where we get our hands dirty every single day. We don't have fancy office chairs or air conditioning. We just have our workbenches and the tools we need. The neighborhood is mostly residential, so we try not to make too much noise early in the morning. We start our day with a bit of cleaning. There’s always dust from the previous day. The name of the place sounds a bit formal, but we are just regular folks. We’ve got a couple of guys who are really good with their hands. They don't talk much, they just work. I handle the paperwork and talk to the people who drop by. We get our supplies from the local market. It’s easier that way. Sometimes we run out of things and have to wait for the next delivery. It’s not a perfect system, but it works for us. We've been in this building for quite a while now. The windows are high up, so we don't see much of the street, but we hear the kids playing outside. It’s a nice background sound. We just keep our heads down and finish what we started. That's the main thing. We close up at six and head home to our families.
