We are located on Amlokitala Lane in Ranaghat. It’s a quiet enough street most of the time, though it gets a bit crowded on market days. Our office for Gannon Dunkerley & Co., Ltd is pretty basic. We’ve got the usual setup—desks, a few computers that aren't the newest models, and a lot of paper. Working in the Nadia district means we are often traveling out to different project sites nearby. It’s a lot of driving on roads that aren't always in the best shape. We don't have any flashy signs out front. If you are looking for us, you just look for the gate near the old trees. Most of the staff have been here for years, so we know how each other works. There isn't a lot of hierarchy; if a lightbulb needs changing or a truck needs unloading, whoever is free just does it. We keep a stash of biscuits for when visitors drop by. It’s a bit old-fashioned, maybe, but it works for us. We don't bother with big mission statements. We just try to get the orders right and keep the projects moving along. It’s a steady life here in West Bengal. Some days the rain stops the outdoor work, so we sit inside and catch up on the books.
