Banmali Dalai & Colours

Our place, Banmali Dalai & Colours, is located at Plot No. 37 in Choudhury Bazar. We are situated right in front of the Muthoot Finance building, which makes us pretty easy to spot even when the market gets packed. The shop isn't very large, but we pack a lot of color into the space we have. We spend our days mixing paints and helping people choose the right shades for their walls. It gets quite loud in the bazaar, especially on weekends, but we don't mind. We've been operating out of this spot for a long time. My uncle started it, and now we all help out. The floors are stained with various paint drips from over the years, which gives the place some character, I think. We have shelves reaching all the way to the ceiling. Sometimes we have to use a shaky old ladder to get the top cans down. It’s just how things are here. Customers usually come in with a small scrap of paper or a photo of a room they like. We do our best to find a match. We aren't a big chain store, just a local spot where you can get your supplies and maybe have a quick chat about the weather. We try to stay open until late so the workers can stop by after their shifts. It works for everyone. We like being part of the noise and life here in Choudhury Bazar.
