Asmacs, Mumbai

Asmacs, Mumbai actually has us working out of this location in Lunahar, Salipur. We are based in the Cuttack district of Orissa, far away from the main Mumbai headquarters. It’s a very local operation here. We spend our time talking to people from around the district who are looking for work or need help with their recruitment papers. The office is just a simple building in Salipur, and it feels very much like a part of the local community. We don't have those big air-conditioned offices you see in the city. Mostly, it’s just fans spinning and the sound of traffic from the road outside. We deal with a lot of documents every day, checking passports and making sure everyone has the right qualifications for the jobs they want. It’s a lot of repetitive work, but it’s important for the people here who are trying to find better opportunities. The weather in Cuttack can be quite humid, so we’re usually a bit tired by the end of the day. We don't use any fancy systems, just the basic computers and a lot of physical files. It’s a steady pace, and we’ve gotten to know a lot of the locals who stop by to check on their applications. We just take things as they come and try to keep the paperwork moving without too many mistakes.
