Arihant Gurukul

Arihant Gurukul is found at Plot No 1503/B in the CDA area of Cuttack. It is a part of the city that has really filled up with buildings over the last decade. Our school is a sturdy concrete structure that looks a lot like the other houses on the block, except for the large sign out front. We have several floors, and the stairs are always a bit of a workout for us in the morning. The classrooms are simple with wooden desks that have been around for quite a while. Cuttack is known for its humidity, and you can really feel it in the afternoons when the air just stays still. We have a small office near the front door where the registers are kept and where parents come to ask questions about the schedule. Most of the staff lives locally, so we deal with the same muddy roads during the monsoon season. We do not have a big campus, just a courtyard where we gather before classes start. The sound of the city is always there, but once you get inside the thick walls, it gets a bit quieter. We spend our days mostly grading papers and making sure the kids are not running too fast in the hallways. It is a practical place where we just get the work done. The paint on the outer walls is peeling a little, but it does its job.
