Ankuran

We are over on the 6th Lane in Kasturi Nagar, right in Rayagada. Our place is called Ankuran. If you are walking down the lane, you can't miss us; we are the building with the blue door. Rayagada is a busy place, but our lane is usually a bit quieter. We focus on various things here, mostly involving local projects and some community work. The office is really just a converted house, so it feels very homelike. We have a small garden out front that we try to keep green, though the Odisha heat makes it difficult in the summer. Inside, it’s mostly just desks and bookshelves filled with old records and files. We spend a lot of time on the phone or meeting with people who live nearby. It’s a very local feel. We don't have a big corporate structure or anything like that. It’s just us working together to keep things running. Sometimes we stay late when there is a lot to catch up on, and we can hear the sounds of the neighborhood as it settles down for the night. We’ve been in Kasturi Nagar for a good while now. People know they can just drop by if they need something. We don't put on airs or try to act like we are bigger than we are. We are just a small part of Rayagada, doing our bit every day and trying to make things work.
