Amiya Engineering

If you are driving along Nh No.5, you will find Amiya Engineering near the Gandarpur post office. Being right on the highway means we see a lot of traffic. All day long, big trucks and cars go zooming past our door. The dust from the road covers everything, so we are constantly wiping down our tools and the workbenches. It is a practical location, even if it is a bit noisy for some people. We have been set up here in Gandarpur for many years now. It is an engineering shop, so it is full of heavy parts and the constant smell of grease and oil. We do not have a fancy showroom. Most of our customers are people who are passing through or locals who know we are here. We spend our days fixing things and putting parts together. It is not the kind of job where you wear a suit. My work clothes have permanent oil stains on them that never come out. Sometimes the heat on the highway gets to be a lot in the summer, so we take breaks in the shade of the workshop. We do not have a big marketing budget or a social media page. We just rely on word of mouth. If we do a good job for someone, they usually tell their friends. That is how we have stayed open this long. It is a steady life. We watch the cars go by and keep working on whatever is on the bench.
