Sumitra ambulance is based out of Buxibazar. If you know the area, you know how crowded it gets, especially during the market hours. We’ve been operating from here for a good bit of time. The drivers have to be really patient with the narrow lanes and the rickshaws that get in the way. It’s just a small local setup. We have a couple of vehicles and we try to keep them running smooth. It’s a lot of maintenance because the roads are rough on the suspension. We don't do much advertising; usually, people just know us by word of mouth or see the van parked in our usual spot. We deal with all sorts of situations, from routine check-up trips to late-night emergencies. The night shifts are actually a bit easier because the Buxibazar traffic finally dies down a little. We keep the stretchers clean and the first aid kits stocked up. It’s not a complicated business, just about being reliable when someone is in a tough spot. We aren't part of some big chain, just a local group trying to make a living and help the neighbors. We don't use big words or have a polished office. It is just us, the vans, and the phone. We try to stay ready for whatever the next call brings, day or night. Often we just sit on the plastic chairs outside the shop until the phone rings again.
