Gsr Bricks Company sits at 11/72-8, right along Sh 65 in Somavarapeta. If you’re driving that way, you can’t really miss us. We have bricks piled high almost to the edge of the road. It’s a noisy place with the highway traffic zooming past all day long. We get used to the sound of the engines. The yard is usually a bit of a mess with dirt and broken pieces of brick scattered around. That is just the nature of what we do. We don’t have a fancy showroom. Most people just pull their tractors or trucks right into the dirt lot. We spend our mornings firing the kiln and the afternoons moving stacks. The heat from the fire adds to the sun, making it a sweaty job most months of the year. We have been at this specific spot for quite a while now. Some days it rains and the whole place turns into a mud pit, which makes everything twice as hard. We just wait for it to dry out and then get back to it. It’s not the kind of job you do if you want to stay clean. We just focus on making enough bricks to keep the local builders happy. Somavarapeta is a good area for us, and Sh 65 stays busy enough that we always have something going on.
