Sri Maruthi Colours

Our place at Sri Maruthi Colours is over at 11/1 in the Rangasamudram Area. Porumamilla is a decent-sized place, but everyone seems to know everyone else around here. We deal with colours, so there is always some pigment or dust around the shop. It’s not a sterile environment by any means. It’s a working shop where things get messy and then cleaned up again. The building is just a regular structure on the street, nothing that stands out from a mile away. You just look for the number 11/1. We’ve been in this Rangasamudram neighborhood for quite a while now. The mornings are usually spent organizing the different shades and making sure we have what people might need for their projects. It's not a corporate setup with meetings and slideshows. It’s more about being behind the counter and talking to people who walk in from the street. The weather in Porumamilla can be quite dry, which is actually good for keeping the inventory in good shape. Sometimes the power goes out and we just have to wait it out, chatting with the folks nearby until the lights come back on. It’s a local business through and through. We don’t have any grand statements to make. We just keep the doors open and do what we do with the colors. If you’re walking through the area, you’ll probably see the old sign and the stacks of containers inside. It’s just a normal part of the street.
