Vinayaga Earth Movers

Vinayaga Earth Movers is based out of Bahour, right there at number 78 on the Pondicherry Main Road. It’s a busy stretch of road, so there’s always a lot of dust flying around from the trucks and buses passing by. We deal with heavy equipment, so the yard is usually full of yellow machines and the smell of diesel. It’s not a quiet office job; we are out there in the heat most of the time. The sun hits the main road pretty hard in the afternoons, but we have a small shaded area where we sit and talk about the day's tasks. The shop itself is simple, with just enough room for some spare parts and the ledger where we keep track of everything. We’ve got a few guys who have been with us for years, and we all just get on with it. Sometimes the machinery breaks down at the worst possible time, and we end up staying late under some work lights to get things moving again. People in Bahour know us as the place on the main road where you go when you need some serious digging done. We don’t have a website or anything like that. We just rely on the fact that we show up and do the work we said we would do. It’s a honest, dusty, and tiring way to make a living, but it’s what we do.
