Suthakar Sabanayagam runs his business from 22A Malaikatti Street in Chidambaram. Being in a place like this, with the 608001 pincode, means things move at a certain pace. Malaikatti Street is a familiar place to most locals. It’s not a large operation with lots of departments. It’s mostly just Suthakar and a couple of others keeping things going. We don’t have any fancy brochures or a big sign out front that glows at night. We just have a door and a desk and plenty of work to do. People in Chidambaram usually know who they are looking for before they even leave their house, so we don’t need to shout about what we do. It’s a small town way of doing business. We see the same faces often and we like it that way. The office is practical and a bit lived-in, which suits us just fine. There’s always something to be done, whether it’s paperwork or talking to someone who stopped by. We don't use big words or try to sound like a corporation from the city. We are just local people working on Malaikatti Street. It’s been this way for a long time and we don’t see any reason to change it. We just show up, do the work, and go home. That is more than enough for us most days.
