Sterlite Industries

Sterlite Industries is located out in Kadambuliyur, which is in the Panruti taluk of Cuddalore district. Our address is 722, Chetty Street. It’s a bit of a trek if you’re coming from the main city, as it’s tucked away in a more rural setting. The area is very traditional and quiet compared to the big industrial hubs. We operate out of a building that fits right in with the rest of the street. It’s not a massive factory complex with gates and security guards everywhere. It’s more of a local office where we manage our affairs. The Chetty Street area has a lot of history and the people around here have lived here for generations. We see the same faces every morning when we open up. Panruti is famous for its jackfruit and cashews, and you can often smell the local produce in the air depending on the season. Our workspace is practical. We have old wooden desks and plenty of shelving for our files. It gets quite dusty because of the open roads nearby, so we are always wiping things down. We don't have a corporate cafeteria, so we usually bring lunch from home or find something in the village. It’s a slow-paced environment but we keep busy enough with our daily routines. We’ve been a part of this community for a long time now and like the quietness of it.
