Simplex Infrastructures Ltd, Kolkatta

Even though the company name mentions Kolkatta, this branch of Simplex Infrastructures Ltd is located way down in Tamil Nadu. We are based in Vantarajan Kuppam, which is under the N.Moolakuppam Post in Cuddalore Taluk. It’s a coastal area, and you can definitely feel the salt in the air most days. The office is pretty simple, reflecting the rural setting around us. We don’t have much in the way of high-tech gadgets, just what we need to keep the projects on track. A lot of our day is spent talking to local contractors and making sure the supplies arrive at the sites on time. The roads around Cuddalore can be a bit rough, especially after it rains, so we spend a lot of time troubleshooting transport issues. It’s a different world from the big city offices. We take our breaks under the shade when it gets too hot and keep things moving at a steady pace. There’s no pretending to be something we aren't here. We’re just a bunch of workers trying to make sure the infrastructure gets built properly in this part of the state. It’s quiet, it’s a bit dusty, and the work is hard, but we like the simplicity of it. We just do our bit and go home at the end of the day. It’s a long way from Bengal, but we’ve made this place our own.
