Marruthi Ice Creams

You’ll find Marruthi Ice Creams right on the Thandarampattu Main Road at number 48. Being on the main road means we see a lot of people passing through every day. It’s a busy spot with trucks and cars always going by. We’ve been here for a good amount of time. The shop isn’t anything special to look at from the outside, but we keep it clean inside. We mostly sell pre-packed ice creams and some cones. It’s a simple setup that works for a roadside shop. During the monsoon, things slow down a bit, but once the sun comes out, the place gets packed. We don't have a lot of staff, usually just one or two of us behind the counter. We’ve lived in this area forever, so we know how things work around Thandarampattu. It’s a straightforward business. We buy the stock, we put it in the freezer, and we sell it. There’s no big philosophy behind it. We just want to provide a place where people can stop for a minute while they’re traveling or walking home. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to worry about the stock, but that’s just part of running a shop here. We’re just local people trying to run a decent little business on the main road.
