M. R. Liners

We are over at No. 54 in Kavery Nagar, right here in Kondur. M. R. Liners is just a small operation. We make liners, which is more work than it sounds like. The shop floor is where we spend most of our time. It gets hot during the afternoons, so we keep the doors open for whatever breeze comes through. There’s usually a pile of raw materials near the entrance. We try to keep things organized, but when we get a big order, everything goes everywhere. It’s just me and a few others working the machines. We have been here for years. The neighborhood is mostly residential, so we try not to make too much noise too late. People know us as the guys who are always at the workshop. We don't have a fancy showroom. If someone wants to see what we do, they just come into the back where the work happens. My boots are always dirty from the floor. We take our breaks sitting on the benches outside. Sometimes we talk about the weather or how the machines are holding up. It’s a simple life. We don't have big corporate meetings. We just look at what needs to be done for the day and we do it. Kondur is a good place to work. It’s quiet enough that we can get our tasks done without too much bother. It's just a steady daily routine for us, making sure the orders are ready to go.
