Siva Shankari Nursery Gardens

Siva Shankari Nursery Gardens is located at 103 Udiyar Street in Sennintham. We’re in the Aranthangi post office area of Kattumnnarkoil. It’s a quiet place compared to the big cities. Most of our days are spent outdoors among the plants and the dirt. We’ve got a lot of different trees and flowers growing here. It’s not a perfectly manicured park. There are weeds in the paths and the pots are sometimes stacked a bit messy, but the plants themselves are healthy. We started this because we liked being outside and working with the land. Now, it’s just our daily routine. We wake up early to water everything before the sun gets too hot. People from around the village come by to see what’s in season or to get a few saplings for their own yards. We don’t have a website or do any big advertising. Word just gets around that we have good soil and healthy starts. Sometimes we sit under the shade of the big trees and just talk to whoever stops by. It’s a slow kind of life, but we like it that way. We aren't trying to grow into a massive corporation. We just want to keep the garden going and help people find something green for their homes. If you find yourself on Udiyar Street, you’ll see the green gate. We usually keep it open unless we stepped away for lunch or a quick errand.
