Kannan Garments & Textile Privatelimited is at Number 155 in Indira Nagar, right on M.R.K. Salai in Neyvelli. It’s a busy street and there is always something going on outside. Our building is a bit older, but it serves us well. We’ve got garments and textiles spread out across several rooms. It’s not the most organized looking place, but we know where everything is. We spend our mornings sorting through orders and our afternoons packing things up for delivery. There is a lot of movement throughout the day. We have a few long tables where we inspect the clothes. We don’t have a big fancy office. It’s just a place where we work. Sometimes the neighbors come by to chat. We’ve been part of the Neyvelli landscape for a long time now. The ceiling fans hum all day long. We don’t use a lot of technical jargon or corporate speak. We just talk about the fabric and the quality of the stitching. If something is wrong, we fix it. We have a small staff and we all know each other’s families. It’s that kind of place. M.R.K. Salai is a good location for us because it’s easy for people to drop off supplies. We don’t have a mission statement on the wall, just a calendar and some notes about delivery dates. It’s an honest, local business. We do our work and go home. That’s how we’ve always done it in Neyvelli. We usually have the radio playing in the background to keep the energy up while we work.
