Our facility for I L & F S Tamilnadu Power Company Ltd is out in Pudhupettai Post. We are located in the Parangipattai area which is near Chidambaram. Being this close to the coast means the air is always a bit salty and you can feel the dampness in the morning. Our site at number 1 is a large setup and it takes a lot of different people to keep everything running correctly. It is a 24-hour operation so there is always a shift of workers here even in the middle of the night. The road out to Chidambaram is a long one and many of us travel it every single day. We are not a small local shop. This is a big industrial environment with humming machinery and lots of safety signs everywhere. Most of our day is spent checking systems or walking between the different units on the site. We do not have much of a public office for visitors because we are mostly focused on the technical side of power. It can feel a bit isolated out here in Parangipattai but we have a good group of staff who know what they are doing. The weather can be tough during the monsoon season but the work never stops. It is a serious kind of place with a lot of responsibility and we just take it one day at a time.
