Gowri Exports

Gowri Exports is located at No. 14 Kumaran Kovil Street in Thorappadi, Pudupet. It is a small street and we are right there among the houses and other local shops. We handle various goods for export, which means a lot of our time is spent packing boxes and checking labels. It is not the kind of work that gets you famous, but it is steady and it keeps us busy. Thorappadi is a nice place where people still look out for each other. We don't have a corporate office with leather chairs. Instead, we have a workspace that is full of crates and packing tape. My brother and I started this a few years ago because we wanted to stay in Pudupet and work for ourselves. We don't put out a lot of brochures or anything like that. We just focus on making sure the stuff we send out is exactly what the person on the other end expects. Sometimes we stay late when a big shipment is due, but usually, we are home for dinner. The street can be a bit crowded during festival times because of the temple nearby, but we don't mind the noise. It is just part of being in this neighborhood. We are just regular people doing our part to get local products out into the world. It’s hard work but it is ours and we just take it day by day.
