Degrees And Miles

Our office is at 53, Annamalai Nagar in Cuddalore, Tamil Nadu. It’s a quiet enough street, and we’ve been at this address for a good while now. Degrees And Miles is the name we go by, and as you might guess from that, we spend a lot of time thinking about where people are going and what they’ve studied. The office isn't very big, just a front room where we meet people and a back area where we keep all the files and folders. Cuddalore is a nice place to work, even if it gets a bit sleepy in the hot afternoons. We have a few old wooden desks and some maps on the wall that have seen better days. There’s always a bit of dust on the shelves no matter how much we try to clean, which just seems to be the way things go in this neighborhood. Most of the people who walk in are looking for advice or help with their paperwork, so we spend a lot of time chatting across the counter. We aren't big on formal stuff here; we usually just wear what is comfortable for the weather and get to work. The tea guy comes by once or twice a day, which is usually the highlight of the morning for us. It’s a slow and steady kind of business, not like those high-pressure offices you see in the big cities. We just take it one person at a time and try to help people figure out their next steps.
