Al Buthaini International Fisheries Llp is based down by the water at 23-100, East Street in Patchaiyankuppam. Being near Cuddalore Port means we are right in the middle of everything to do with the sea. You can smell the salt and the fish as soon as you turn onto East Street. It’s a busy, messy, and loud environment, but we’ve been here in Cuddalore Old Town for quite some time now. We handle a lot of different things related to fisheries. It isn't an easy life, the hours are strange because the sea doesn't follow a clock. We’re often up before the sun even thinks about coming out. Our place isn't polished or fancy. It’s a working building where things get done. Sometimes the equipment acts up or the weather keeps the boats in, and we just have to figure out a plan B. We aren't interested in sounding like a big corporation. We’re just local folks who know the fishing business well. People in Cuddalore know where we are if they need anything. We’ve seen the town change over the years, but the work we do stays pretty much the same. It’s honest labor and it keeps us fed. We don't make big promises, we just do what we can with what we have at the moment. It is a long day every day, but we are used to the routine by now.
