Nankem Hospital

Nankem Hospital is over in the Bedford area, right near the Y.W.C.A. It’s a fairly quiet part of town compared to the main city center, which makes it a bit nicer for the patients who are staying with us. We’ve been part of the Bedford community for years now. The hospital isn't one of those giant institutions where you feel like a number in a computer. It's more of a local place where the nurses might recognize your family name or ask how your brother is doing. We provide general medical care for whatever ails you. The building is solid and has been around for a while. It’s got a bit of a classic look to it. We try to keep the garden area neat because it gives people a place to sit for a minute and get some fresh air. Working near the Y.W.C.A means we are easy to find if you are familiar with the landmarks in Bedford. We don't have a corporate office or a board of directors in suits. We just have our doctors and the local staff who show up every shift to help out. Sometimes the plumbing is a bit old and the tiles are chipped, but we fix things as they come up. It’s a real place with real people working in it. We don't make big promises, we just do our best to treat everyone fairly. That’s how we’ve always operated at Nankem.
